Bienvenidos a Ecuador! In this episode, Pedro prepares a classic Flor Fashioned and a delicious Flor de Caña version of the Ecuadorian Canelazo, a Flor Canelazo. Salud!

FLOR FASHIONED:

  • 1.5 oz. of Flor de Caña 12-Year
  • 4 dashes of Aromatic Bitters
  • 1 Tbsp. of Sugar
  • 1 Cherry
  • Twist of Orange Peel

Preparation Method:

In a mixing glass, pour 1.5 oz. of Flor de Caña 12-Year, 1 Tbsp. of Sugar and 4 dashes of Aromatic Bitters. Mix the ingredients with a spoon and add ice. Using a strainer, serve the cocktail in a rocker glass with abundant ice and decorate with a Cherry and Twist of Orange Peel. Salud!

FLOR CANELAZO:

  • 2 oz. of Flor de Caña 12-Year
  • 1 whole Naranjilla (or Quito’s Orange)
  • 1 oz. of Natural Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. of Home-made Cinnamon Syrup
  • Anise
  • Sprig of Fresh Basil

Preparation Method:

In a shaker, place 1 whole Naranjilla (or Quito’s Orange), 2 oz. of Flor de Caña 12-Year, 1 oz. of Natural Lime Juice, 1 oz. of Home-Made Cinnamon Syrup and 3 Basil leaves. Mash all ingredients well in order to extract all the juice from the Naranjilla and essential oils from the Basil leaves. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously. In a clay mug, add abundant ice and serve the cocktail using a double strain. Decorate with a Basil leaf and an Anise. Salud!
